RU WVB Sweeps Montreat College in AAC Match-Up

Waleska, GA – The Reinhardt women's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win over Montreat College (3-0; 26-24, 25-16, 25-21), on Tuesday night. 

 The first set saw many traded leads and rallies all the way to the last point where Montreat's two errors gave the Eagles the 26-24 win. The beginning of set two was also back and forth up until Reinhardt's fifteenth point, where RU went on a 10-point run to help close out set two and take the two-set advantage. Finally, in the third sets, Reinhardt maintained the lead throughout th entirety of the match, although Montreat trailed closely. Reinhardt ended up clenching the set 25-21.

 Reinhardt is now sitting at #2 in the AAC with a conference record of 8-2 and a 15-3 record overall. The Eagles will be traveling to SC this weekend where they will be playing Columbia College on Friday, October 6^th, at 6:30pm. Then on the next day, Saturday, the Eagles will be matching up versus #1 CIU at 11am. 

 Leaders:

• Katherine Perrin finished the night with 12 kills, while Juliette Baffico added 10.
• Ashlynn Barnes led in assists with 30. Barnes also added 9 digs and a service aces.
• Libero, Sarah Sweet, controlled the defense with 26 digs.  
• Jenna Smith also had a great defensive game with 4 blocks. Katherine Perrin and Savanna Horton each had 3.
