Eagles Take 3-0 Sweep Over Bluefield Rams in AAC Match-Up
Bluefield, VA – On Friday, September 15th, the Reinhardt women's volleyball team traveled to Bluefield College to compete in an away AAC matchup. Reinhardt played a very efficient match offensively and defensively and had very limited errors on their side of the net. A player to recognize is Reinhardt's Katherine Perrin, who continues to be a dominating factor in the Eagles' offense. In this contest, she had 15 kills and hit a whopping .406.
The first set of the match was point for point up until RU's 11th point of the match. The Eagles went on a 9-0 run due to some errors committed on Bluefield's side. While the Rams closed the lead some, it was too late before RU closed set one 25-21. Reinhardt saw an early lead in the 2nd match thanks to back-to-back kills from four different RU players. Reinhardt then made another run to close out set two 25-15. Reinhardt's momentum helped carry them through set 3 and Perrin helped close it out with the last four kills of the match.
The away trip continues with a game against the Kentucky Christian Knights that will be played the following day, Saturday, September 16th, at 1pm. The Eagles are now sitting with an AAC record of 2-1 and a 9-2 record overall.
