Reinhardt Tabbed to Finish Third in AAC Preseason Poll
from the AAC:
WALESKA, Ga. - Columbia International is picked to win the 2023 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Volleyball championship, according to the AAC Women's Volleyball Coaches' Poll released Monday.
The poll was voted on by the women's volleyball coaches of the AAC.
CIU received 11 of the 14 first-place votes to claim the top spot with 199 voting points. Bryan collected two first-place votes to land second with 191 voting points.
Last season, CIU and Bryan finished first and second, respectively, in the regular season with CIU winning the AAC Tournament championship.
Reinhardt, Bluefield, and Milligan round out the top five with Reinhardt receiving the only other first-place vote.
Reinhardt had a great season finishing 19-13 overall and 16-4 in the AAC regular season. The team was barely eliminated in the semi-finals by eventual champion - CIU. The Eagles played the Rams very tough and very well could have won the match, but it was not to be. Coach Goodhind's squad will be ready to go this year and push for the conference title again so they can get the automatic bid in the NAIA Nationals. With returning players like Caroline Curry, Allison Selway, and Maria Cordova - the Eagles have a very good shot at taking the conference title this season.
The first game is Saturday, August 19th at home versus Talladega.
The top 10 teams in the regular season advance to the AAC Tournament, which is set for Nov. 9-11 in Kingsport, Tenn.
