Eagles End Season with Hard-Fought Loss to CIU in AAC Semi-Finals
Kingsport, TN – The Reinhardt University women's volleyball matched up against the CIU Rams for the Semi-Finals of the AAC Tournament. This match between Reinhardt and CIU was a fun one to watch. Both teams clawed the whole way through every set with effort and energy and the scores reflect it. In the end, the CIU Rams managed to come out on top in this tight game (1-3; 25-20, 29-31, 24-26, 18-25). Ambria McBride was named on the AAC All-Tournament Team. This loss ended the Reinhardt volleyball season but the Eagles have a lot to be proud of.
Quote from Coach Goodhind:
- "Today was a tough loss, especially giving away 2 sets that would win the match versus a very good CIU team. CIU is having a great year and is a very solid team,. We know they are going to represent the AAC strongly at the NAIA National Tournament. What I will say is I don't think many teams could have their head coach be diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and stay together while having a young coaching staff with no college experience leading/coaching and put themselves in a situation like they did. They somehow finished conference very strong, got to the AAC tournament, and put themselves in a situation where they had a real opportunity to take down the #1 team. With all that said, I am very proud of this team and the coaching staff. Personally I'm going through the fight of my life with my diagnosis but I am very thankful to God. I want to give Him all the Honor and Glory. My journey through this will one where I shine His light and I plan it to be and inspiring journey/fight!
Thank you to my RU family and everyone out there that has shown me so much love and support through this tough time! You are very much appreciated and I send you my love, prayers, and support right back! #ForHim #Eagles #CBstrong!"
