Eagles Fall to Bryan on the Road 3-0
Dayton, TN – The Reinhardt Eagles traveled to Tennessee to face the undefeated Lions of Bryan College. Despite the close scores and and Eagle advantage in the 2nd set, the Lions earned a 3-0 sweep to keep their conference win-streak alive (0-3; 21-25, 23-25, 24-26).
Outstanding Performers:
- Offensively, Katherine Perrin and Maria Piliposyans led in kills with 9 each. Perrin hit a .238 while Piliposyanshit a .615.
- Alma Vazquez Nunez ended the match with the squad-high 17 digs, while Claudia Klein chipped in 8.
- Maria Cordova threw up 26 assist and added 10 digs and 5 kills in the match as well.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Reinhardt University and Bryan College were close in every statistical category as a team, but the Lions has the edge.
- The Eagles totaled 38 kills for a .139 hitting percentage, while the Lions of BC had 42 kills and a .209 hitting percentage.
- The Eagles led 4-2 in aces and 36-35 in assists, but was out-dug by the Lions 46-51.
- The Bryan College volleyball team also led in blocks with 16 to RU's 5.
- Lastly, Reinhardt earned 45 points to Bryan's 52.
UP NEXT: Women's volleyball looks to redeem themselves this coming Wednesday, October 4th, with an away game at 6:30. The eagles will be matching up against the TMU Bears.
