ASHEVILLE, N.C. – After capturing its second-straight Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) regular-season championship with a perfect 19-0 record in the league, head Eagle Brian Goodhind scooped up back-to-back Coach of the Year honors while Carlee Baxter, Tessa Colden and Emily Charbonneau were named First Team All-AAC on Wednesday night at the conference volleyball banquet.
Baxter, a junior from Daytona Beach, Fla., was also selected as the AAC Setter of the Year for her stellar work running the offense for Reinhardt in 2018. In total, she has accumulated 937 assists, in a 6-2 offense, so far this year (7.62 average) to help the Eagles to a school-record 30-6 mark before postseason play.
Colden – in her second year at Reinhardt – is a first teamer in the conference for two-straight seasons. The Deland, Fla., native has 333 kills (5th-place in the AAC) so far this year in 122 games with just 87 errors.
She also has 48 aces to her name.
The league accolades didn't stop there for the Eagles, however, as newcomer Charbonneau was also placed on the AAC's All-Freshmen Team after a regular season of 160 kills (.246 hitting percentage) in just 83 sets.
For her work on the court and in the community, senior captain Angel Cornista was the club's choice for the Champions of Character Team.
In the classroom, seven Reinhardt student-athletes received the designation of All-Academic within the AAC.
