Baxter, Adkins Play Their Way to AAC Nods

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Carlee Baxter and Kelley Adkins were each honored by the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) on Monday, as the duo was named AAC Setter of the Week and Defender of the Week, respectively, for their play on the court from Oct. 29-Nov. 4.
Baxter collected 93 assists in a 3-0 week (10.33) to help the Eagles' offense continue to hum en route to back-to-back AAC regular-season championships. The junior setter also earned 33 digs for a trio of double-doubles – all on the road.
With a total of 49 digs in three outings (5.44 per set), Adkins was all over the floor for Reinhardt during the perfect 3-0 weekend. She also had 10 assists and three aces in the last seven days.
With a bid to the 39th annual NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship Opening Round already set, the squad opens up the AAC Championship tomorrow at Noon against Truett-McConnell (Ga.) in Kingsport, Tenn., at the MeadowView Marriott Convention Center.
