Women's Track have solid outing at AAC Championship

Last weekend, April 22 - 23, 2016, the Reinhardt University track and field teams traveled to Sevierville, TN to compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Track Championships. It was a solid outing for the Eagles. The women finished sixth out of the ten competing schools.
The women had one all-conference performer, Anna Mills, and set six school records. Dani Pray finished eleventh with a time of 29.22 in the 200m run. Ansley Avera set a new school record in the 400m run with a time of 1:04.74, good enough for a tenth place finish. Jazzmine Gonzalez finished eighth place, but set a school record in the 800m run (2:32.16). Melanie Gerdes set a school record of 20:55.95 in the 5K.
The 4x800m relay team of Savannah Rice, Avera, Gerdes, and Gonzalez set a new school record by 41 seconds (10:30.58), good enough for a third place finish. Reinhardt's women also competed in the 4x100m relay for the first time in school history. The team of Pray, Cameron Hawkins, Avera, Cutlip clocked an inaugural time of 53.00.
Hawkins also finished eighth in the triple jump. Anna Mills finished third in the javelin and set a school record with a throw of 88'5.5," a personal best by nine feet.
