Men's and Women's Tennis Both Win on Senior Day!
Canton, GA - The Eagles ended their regular season on Friday afternoon at their home courts at Bridgemill Athletic Club. The team celebrated its seniors with both teams getting AAC wins, which currently has the Women's Team in third place and the Men's Team sitting at number two. The conference tournament will be taking place next week in Chattanooga, TN giving a chance for each team to move onto the NAIA Nationals
The Women's Team had a narrow win, 4-3, over the Bees of SCAD Atlanta. The Men's Team had a little more breathing room winning 6 to 1.
On the women's side, Ana Josic won 6-2/6-1 in the second position, Camila Neyra won 6-0/6-1 in third, and Nina Thomet won 7-6/6-4 in the sixth position. The Eagles were able to get the single point by winning two of the doubles matches. Pilar Beccera and Thomet won 7-6 in the first position doubles and Neyra and Hanna Blinouskaya won 6-4 in the second spot.
For the men, Luchi Fisicaro won 6-1/6-2 in the first positiion singles. He was followed by Zak Khalil won 6-1/6-1 in the second spot, Pol Masafret was in the third spot winning 6-2/6-1, Juan Vallejo was 6-1/6-2 in the fifth spot, and in the sixth spot - Fede Zeiter won 6-1/6-1
In doubles, Fisicaro joined with Khalil to win 6-3 in the second doubles position. Vallejo and Masafret finished up 6-1 in the third postion doubles win.
