Thomet and Standing Named to AAC Second Team All-Conference

AAC Women's Tennis Awards Announced

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the 2023 Women's Tennis All-AAC Team and Awards on Thursday.
Olivia Alcala of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Player of the Year, Yoursa Hidass of Brenau is the Freshman of the Year, and Francisco Gallardo of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Coach of the Year.
Nina Thomet and Elyse Standing were named to the AAC Second Team All-Conference. Both had great seasons for the Eagles playing multiple position spots for the Eagles in both singles and doubles. Thomet had success in doubles teaming up with Julieta Boerr most of the season playing in the #2 doubles position. She also had time in the number-one spot for both singles and doubles during the season.
Standing was doubles teammate of Taylor Nelson for most of the season. She also played in multiple spots in singles usually coming away with wins to help the Eagles.
The awards were voted on and selected by the women's tennis coaches of the AAC.
Ten players earned a spot on the All-AAC First Team with five making the second team. There are six members of the All-Freshmen. Dozens of players made the grade to earn a spot on the All-Academic Team, while nine were named to the Champions of Character Team.
