RU Tennis has Successful Trip to Milligan
Milligan College, TN - Reinhardt Men's and Women's Tennis traveled to Milligan on Friday to take on the Buffalos on their home courts. Many of the athletic events around the southeast were canceled because of the weather - but they were able to get these matches in with no problems. It was a successful trip for the Eagles as both teams would win - Men's Team - 7 to 0 and the Women's team won 6-1!
On the Women's side, two doubles teams were victorious helping the team get a few points. Julieta Boerr and Nina Thomet teamed up to get a 7 to 5 win and Taylor Nelson and Elyse Standing won over their opponent, 6-2. The Team of Pilar Becerra and Mia Hoeddinghaus played well but came up a little short losing 3 to 6.
In the singles matches, Julieta Boerr won 2-1 over her opponent in the second spot and Nina Thomet won her match 2-0 in the third spot. Following these two were Mia Hoedinghaus, Pilar Becerra, Elyse Standing, and Tayla Kruger all with strong wins and helping the Eagles get the overall win on the Women's side. The win takes the Women's team to 2-1 in the standings.
On the Men's side, the Eagles were able to extend their win streak to 3-0 for the season! They were able to win two of the three doubles matches and six of the singles matches.
In doubles, the teams of Luchi Fiscaro and Pau Pujadas won 6-0 over their opponent, and Nikolai Hensburg and Fede Zeiter won 6-4 over their opponent.
In singles, Luchi Fiscaro was in the top spot for the Eagles and came away with a 2-0 win. Harsh Kheterpal won in 3 sets and following them were Bruno Squarci, Pau Puhadas, and Nicholai Hensburg all won their solo matches in three sets.
Both teams will be playing @ Young Harris on Tuesday, and Thursday at Point, and Saturday will be at Johnson University in Tennessee.
