Waleska, GA – RU women's soccer played in a home AAC match-up against the Brenau Golden Tigers. The Eagles ultimately won 2-0, giving them their 5th conference win of the season. Reinhardt is currently 5-2 in the AAC and are 6-4 overall.
The Eagles dominated their side of the field, with 25 total shots to Brenau's 6. The Golden Tiger's goalie had to make 10 total saves to keep RU from running away with it. RU's first goal came from Sophomore, Reese Wise, with a nice cross pass from Marta Vicente Arche, in the 18th minute of the match. This was Wise's 2nd goal of the season and her 7th in her career. Then, rounding out the end of the game, Riley Welsh, scored with a nice shot from deep with the pass from Marley Bramsway. This was Welsh's 2ndgoal of the season.
Brenau fought on the offensive side but was no match against the tenacious Reinhardt defense. RU Goalie, Reagan Horton, only had to make 1 save to keep the Golden Tigers scoreless.
With only a handful of conference matches left to play, the next match will be played away against the Johnson University Royals. This match will be played this upcoming Saturday, October 12th, at 2pm EST.
