Milligan, TN – The RU women's soccer team traveled to Tennessee to take on the Milligan University Buffaloes. The Eagles ultimately walked away with the 4-2 win after a big comeback was made by Reinhardt. RU now sits with an AAC record of 4-2 and are 5-4 overall.
The Milligan Buffs got off to an early lead as they were able to score in just the 7th minute of the game. Momentum carried for the Buffalos, leading to another goal just 9 minutes later. Down 2 goals to nothing, RU knew they needed to strike soon. Luckily, Milligan had a "Own Goal", closing the point differential to just 2-1.
Then in the final minutes of the 1st half, RU's Marta Vicente Arche scored the tying goal. And then, just a minute passed before Arche was able to score again, giving the Eagles the 3-2 advantage before halftime. In the 2nd half, the only goal from either side came from Reinhardt's Kennedy Vineyard in the 70th minute of the match. The final score was 4-2.
