The Eagles Tally Another AAC Win With a 3-0 Against Bryan!!
Waleska, GA - The Eagles go into the game against AAC opponents, Bryan College with high spirits after a dominant win in their conference opener which saw them put nine past St. Andrews. However, the Bryan Lions will be looking to keep their pride strong and together against an Eagles team that looks more threatening by the minute. However, the Eagles ultimately tally the shutout over the Lions 3-0. The Eagles now sit with an AAC record of 2-0 and are 2-2 overall.
The game would start out played predominantly in Bryan's half as the Eagles would look to feel out the defense and find their openings. The first shots of the game would come from set pieces, though the two headers would be well kept by the Bryan goalie who remained quick on her line. Bryan would occasionally bear their fangs throughout the course of the first half, but the offense was well marshaled by Sarah Bruce and Abbey Craig, who has flourished in her new role as a center-back.
After 14 minutes of play, Belle Seward would find the best chance of the quarter with a turning half volley from the edge of the box which was parried away by a Bryan goalie at full stretch. She would get her revenge with a goal ten minutes later which would bounce around the 6-yard box before being finished with her trademark, strikers instinct. 1-0 Reinhardt, and they're looking for more.
Reinlights of the First Half:
The second half would begin with more Belle Seward domination with a sizzling Seward strike into the top corner in the first minute (Assist: Sarah Taylor), and not two minutes later, Sarah Taylor would have a pop from 30 yards out and nail it into the top of the net! An absolute screamer. Reinhardt came into the second half on fire! 3-0. Reinhardt would slow down after their initial onslaught but would remain in comfortable control of the ball.
With 15 minutes remaining, there had not been much progression from the Lions which would continue to be stopped at every turn by a well-disciplined Reinhardt team. As for The Eagles, they would continue to push on, but the goal would evade them. Their best chances came from crosses by Marta Vicente Arche who was terrorizing her defender down the rightwing.
Overall, Reinhardt will be happy with their performance which continued to show their talent on both sides of the ball.
