Waleska, GA – The Reinhardt women's soccer team hosted the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs who gave them their most competition in conference thus far. The Bulldogs ultimately came out on top 2-1 after a very physical and competitive match-up.
Reinhardt's Ryelyn Wells was able to get a goal in just the first couple minutes of the match to go up 1-0. Then, towards the end of the first half, the Bulldogs lobbed the ball over the left side of the net to tie the game up 1-1. Coming out of the half, the game proved to be very physical with each team trying for the winning goal. TWU was able to get one through in the 57th minute to to take the lead.
Reinhardt never quit and kept the speed and pressure but ultimately wasn't able to get on through the goalies hands. Defensively, Sarah Bambrick had 4 great saves and shots proved to be even at 10-10. Although this wasn't the outcome RU wanted, they should still be proud of how hard they played and the fact that this was the first AAC team who was able to score against them.
The next and last regular season game for the Eagles will be an away match this upcoming Saturday, October 28th, at Union College. The match will be played at 4pm.
