RU WSOC Remains Unbeaten with 5-0 Shutout WIN Over Pikeville

Waleska, GA – The Reinhardt women's soccer team hosted AAC newcomers, the Pikeville Bears, on Wednesday afternoon and earned the shutout win with the final score of 5-0.

 The first goal for the Eagles came early when RU's Marta Vicente-Arche stole the ball early and was able to send the ball right on through in the 5^th minute. Then in the 16^th minute, Pikeville's goalie went to clear the ball but Eagles Ryelyn Wells hustled up and reflected the ball back into the net. The final goal of the first half was a penalty shot made by Marta Vicente-Arche. Coming out of halftime, Reinhardt maintained control and momentum as Reese Wise was able to score 2 goals for her team in the second half to clench the 5-0 win. Haley Sturla and Marta Vicente-Arche each had an assist in those goals. 

 Defensively, Reinhardt did a great job clearing their side of the field as Pikeville only had one shot on goal to Reinhardt's 23. 

 The Eagles are playing really good soccer and with the regular season coming to a close, if the Eagles win out, they could possibly host the entire AAC Tournament. The Eagles are currently at #1 in conference with an AAC record of 10-0-1. The next game for RU will be an away match this upcoming Saturday at Bluefield College at 10am.
