Cleveland, GA – The Reinhardt women's soccer team traveled to Truett-McConnell to compete in another AAC match-up and ended the game tied 0-0 after a very competitive 90 minutes. This match served as being a deciding factor on who would come out on top of the AAC standings as both Reinhardt and Truett-McConnell are undefeated in conference play.
From the first whistle, the game proved to be a very aggressive and tenacious match-up and both teams were vying for the win. Reinhardt did a great job keeping composure as TMU had many fans that had a loud presence. Reinhardt's strong defense was another huge factor in this 0-0 match, as they kept the TMU Bears out of the scoring column. Even with TMU's 8 corner kicks, RU's defense held steady and Eagles Goalie, Sarah Bambrick, did an amazing job protecting her team's goal. Bambrick ended the night with 6 saves. Reinhardt's players proved heart and competed the whole 90 minutes. Reinhardt's Reese Wise was even able to get a shot off in the last minute of the match.
The Eagles should feel good about this tie as they move on to the rest of their conference play. They are now 6-0-1 in the AAC and tied for the top spot with TMU.The next match for the Eagles will be a home game this upcoming Saturday, October 7th, versus the Milligan Buffs at 5pm. This game will also serve as a pink-out in honor and to raise awareness for breast cancer.
