Complete Team Effort Smothers Rams

WALESKA, Ga. – The Eagles hit double-digit wins this afternoon after another strong performance – this time against the Rams of Columbia International (S.C.) – by the count of 5-0 Wednesday afternoon at home.

With the blanking, the hometown squad improved to 10-2 overall and 10-0 within the Appalachian Athletic Conference.

"I'm very proud of our team," head coach Andy Kaplan said. "We have bounced back from a slow start to our season with 10-consecutive wins. Every player on the roster has contributed to the winning streak.

We have earned the privilege of playing in a very big game next Wednesday."

Five different players found their name in the scorebook against the Rams, with four scores coming in the first half, with Marta Vicente-Arche netting the match-winning goal in the 12^th minute from Mila Bodin. Three more goals would follow – including the next two less than 40 seconds apart – as Ryelyn Wells (from Bodin) and Jade Seery teamed up to make it 3-0 in less than 35 minutes of play.

Sierra Ruetten got into the action just before halftime with another tally for Reinhardt (41:20) and Lauren Akemon put a bow on the scoring less than 15 minutes into stanza two.

The Eagle defense again smothered their opposition to the tune of a 19-3 shot advantage and a 9-2 lead in corner kicks.

Caroline Johnson scooped up another win in the net after two saves in 56:45.

The focus now shifts to the Bears of Truett McConnell (Ga.) a week from tonight on the road on Oct. 20 at 5 p.m.
