RU WLAX Win its 5th-Straight With Victory Over Benedictine 16-9

Waleska,, GA – The Reinhardt women's lacrosse team won its 5^th straight game, dominating the Benedictine College Ravens on Friday night with a final score of 16-9. 

Despite the pouring rain and puddles covering the field, the Eagles battled both the Ravens and Mother Nature and came out with the victory over both. Th Eagles dominated the Ravens on both the offensive and defensive end, outplaying Benedictine in every statistical category. 

The beginning of the game saw RU and Benedictine at 3 goals a piece, but that is when RU kicked it into another gear, as they were able to score 6 unanswered goals to head into halftime up 10-4. Benedictine came out in the second half and were able to make a run or two but it wasn't enough as RU's offensive was still fired up. Reinhardt scored 4 in the 3^rd and 2 more in the 5^th to clench the win 16-9

 Shelby O'Neil led the way offensively with 6 goals and 3 assists, while Anna-Marie Gazzo had 4 goals and 2 assists. Mia Griswold played an all-around great game with 8 draw-controls, 3 goals, 1 assists, and picked up 9 ground-balls. Defensively, Angela Sciacchitano caused Benedictine turnovers, while Emma Perritte and O'Neil caused 4. 

The Eagles now sit with a 5-1 record as they will continue with a home game against Life University on Wednesday, March 13^th, at 6pm.
