#6 RU WLAX Earns the 10-9 Upset at #3 Keiser in OT Win!!

West Palm Beach, FL – #6 Reinhardt women's lacrosse team traveled to Florida to play #3 the Keiser Seahawks on Saturday afternoon and earned the upset with the final score of 10-9.  

The Eagles came out ready to play as they scored 4 unanswered goals in the 1^st quarter, including 2 from RU's Shelby O'Neil. Keiser then had the opening goal of the 2^nd quarter but Reinhardt was quick to answer with another goal of their own. Keiser and RU then, traded another 2 goals to end the 1^st half with a score of 6-2 in favor of the Eagles. Then in the 3^rd, the Eagles and Seahawks each added 2 goals each. In the 4^th, the Seahawks went on a run to match the score of 9-9 to force overtime. In overtime 1, there was no scores, so it forced a second OT. Finally freshman, Lainey Byrne, scored the winning goal with an assist from Mia Griswold to win the game 10-9 over a really good Keiser team. 

The Eagles will now continue their trip with another game the following day, February 18^th, versus St. Thomas at 1pm.

• Mia Griswold led the RU offense with 2 goals and 3 assists.   
• Lainey Byrne, Brinley Christiansen, Shelby O'Neil, and Anna-Marie Gazzo each recorded 2 goals.
• Kelsey Sowa had 6 draw controls, while Mia Griswold had 4
• Angela Sciacchitano and Shelby O'Neil each picked up 4 groundballs.  
• Angela Sciacchitano stood out defensively, causing 6 Keiser turnovers. 
• Madison Hasty recorded 6 saves.
