Eagles Fall Short To Life In NAIA Tournament Quarterfinals 11-9
Southfield, MI – The Reinhardt Eagles Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Michigan to play in the NAIA National Tournament. The Eagles were seeded at No. 3 and was set to play the No. 6 seed Life Univeristy in the opening quarterfinals round. The Eagles had scored 2 quick goals to lead in the first few minutes of the game. The first goal was scored by Mia Griswold during Reinhardt's first offensive drive. Then, Shelby O'Neil got one through the net with a pass from Macy Fulton. The first quarter finished with Reinhardt leading 4-3 over the Running Eagles. During the 2ndquarter, Life was able to score 4 unanswered as they took a 7-4 advantage before heading into halftime. Coming into 2nd half, Reinhardt had a man-up and a man-down goal to close the scoring gap to just one goal. Life University was able to get 2 more back-to-back goals to stretch their lead to 9-6. Reinhardt's Mia Griswold answered Life's run with 3 assists, including one to Macy Fulton to even the score at 9 a piece. However, Life was able to get two more to clench this quarterfinals match-up 11-9 to advance to the semi-finals. While the women's lacrosse season is over, they should be very proud of their season and all they have accomplished. Eagle Nation has loved supporting them and cannot wait to see what they do in the future.
