Eagles Shutout Brenau to Finish AAC Schedule 6-1
Waleska, GA - The Eagles were able to make quick work of the visiting Golden Tigers of Brenau on a wet and soggy day at Ken White Field. Reinhardt scored early and often to eventually win 29 to 0 in their final regular season game of 2023.
Shelby O'Neil would strike first in the first minute of the game from an assist from Mia Griswold. O'Neil would finish the game with 5 goals and 5 assists. She also added 14 ground balls and 13 draw controls for the Eagles.
Carly Harris would score the next goal in a few minutes later and the floodgates of scoring began. Harris finished with one goal and she dished out 4 assists in the game.
Jillian Mello and Anna-Marie Gazzo would lead the Eagles in scoring with 6 goals each. Mello also had 4 assists and 4 ground balls and Gazzo had 2 assists and 2 ground balls. Kelsey Sowa would not be far behind Mello, Gazzo, and O'Neil in scoring with 4 goals of her own.
Adriana Talkington and Lawna Henry got multiple goals with 2 each. Casey Kid, Ashley Steele, and Samantha Poole joined Harris with one goal each. Steele is mainly a defender for the Eagles, but she was able to push up the field to get into the attack to score her goal.
Mia Griswold had an impressive game in midfield getting 11 ground balls and giving 2 assists to help the Eagles.
Defensively, the Eagles did not allow many shots against them, however, the Golden Tigers were able to get 6 shots throughout the game. Madison Hasy picked up the win as the starting keeper and saved 3 shots. Below are the complete numbers from the goalkeeping department.

Despite the weather, the Eagles were able to put this one away early and get many players quality time on the field. The team ends the regular season with a 10-4 record overall and 6-1 in the AAC. Their only AAC loss was the overtime game with Cumberlands a few weeks ago. Most likely, the Eagles will get to face the Patriots again in the AAC Tournament, which will take place at Ken White Field on April 20-22.
