Week 6: AAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Emma Rittman of Cumberlands and Jillian Mello of Reinhardt are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Jillian Mello received the AAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week award for her standout performance in the Eagles game versus Tennessee Wesleyan over the weekend. The Eagles won 27-2 where Mello had 6 goals and 5 assists. She also added 5 ground balls and caused 2 turnovers for the all-around performance.
The Eagles have two AAC games this week. Cumberlands will be at Ken White Field on Wednesday and then St. Andrews makes the trip on Saturday.
This is the sixth edition of the weekly honors for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on April 3.
AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Jillian Mello - Reinhardt - Senior - Freeport, N.Y.
- Amassed 11 total points in a 27-2 win over Tennessee Wesleyan.
- Posted 6 goals and 5 assists in the win.
- Had 5 groundballs and 2 caused turnovers as well.
- This is her first weekly award this season.
AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Emma Rittman - Cumberlands - Freshman - Pickerington, Ohio
- Helped Cumberlands to a 2-0 record on the week.
- Caused 3 turnovers.
- Had 3 groundballs and 10 draw control.
- Won 21 draw controls.
- Scored 5 goals and had 1 assist.
- This is her third weekly award this season.
