The Eagles Score 14 Goals in 1st Quarter to Win 27-2 Over TWU
Waleska, GA – The NAIA No. 2 ranked Eagles lacrosse team played an in-conference match-up and earned an impressive 31-3 over Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. With the win, Reinhardt extends its win streak to seven straight and improve to 4-0 in the AAC and 8-3 overall. Shelby O'Neil led the way for the Eagles with 7 goals out of 9 shots, while Jillian Mello had 6 goals of her own, inching her way closer to her 100th career goal. Also freshman, Rayna Galloway scored her 1st ever goal as a Reinhardt Eagle. Mia Griswold had 8 ground-balls and took 8 draw controls. Reinhardt's Mia Griswold won the opening draw control to get the first drive of the game. Shelby O'Neil scored the first goal just 30 seconds into the game with an assist from Anna-Maria Gazzo. Reinhardt's offensive started the game off hot, scoring an impressive 14 goals in the 1st quarter alone. This over 10-goal lead forced a mercy rule resulting in a running clock the rest of the game The Eagles were able to score 13 more goals throughout the rest of the game to TWU's 2 to ultimately win 27-2.
