GAINESVILLE, Ga. – A number of Eagles found their way onto the field and into the scorebook as No. 5 Reinhardt blasted Brenau (Ga.), 28-0, in Gainesville on Saturday afternoon.
Three players – Morgan McGhee, Brook Villhauer and Anna-Marie Gazzo – netted four goals each while another trio of teammates added three tallies apiece in the rout.
"The younger players continue to put in quality time with the veterans in these conference games," head coach Roy Reynolds said. "Again, all aspects of our game worked well in a good team win."
The hometown team (7-1, 6-0 Appalachian Athletic Conference) was dominant again in all aspects of the matchup, as it allowed just one shot and put up 47 of its own in the blowout. Of those attempts, 39 of them were on-goal.
That amount of chances propelled the Eagles to a 16-0 lead in in the first 24 minutes, including 7-0 in just 5:06 into the contest.
Caroline Copenhaver, who scored three times, added a pair of assists (out of 13 total). Amaya Garner was out-front in dimes with four.
Defensively, the Eagles forced 19 Golden Tiger miscues.
Jessie Landers got the win in 60 minutes of action with one save.
The squad is back home on April 7 against Asbury (Ky.).
Opening whistle is set for 6 p.m.
