Bio
Debbie Blount is in her first year as Assistant Women’s Golf Coach and her fifth year with Reinhardt University following a four-year playing career. As a player at Reinhardt, she qualified for every tournament but one during her four years of eligibility, giving her the third-highest number of college rounds (79) in Reinhardt history. She had an all-tournament finish at the 2021 Tennessee Wesleyan Spring Invitational and contributed to the Eagles' first win at the 2022 Tennessee Wesleyan Invitational. Debbie was named to the Women’s Golf Coaches of America All Scholar team three times and received the prestigious Kim Moore Spirit Award for NAIA for the 2021/2022 season. She drew national media attention as the oldest college athlete in history by starting her college athletic and academic career at age 62 but brings a youthful enthusiasm to the team. Although she took up golf a bit later in life so she could enjoy the game with her late husband Ben, she has a passion for the game, and especially Reinhardt University Golf! Debbie lives in Sandy Springs with her three dogs. When not on a golf course, she enjoys fitness-related activities, cooking, and entertaining friends and family.
Education: Piedmont Hospital School of Radiologic Technology 1976-1978: Registered Radiologic Technologist
Reinhardt University Class of 2023: BA Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in History, English, and Sports Studies.
Reinhardt University Class of 2024: Masters in Sports Administration and Leadership
Playing/Coaching History: Numerous GSGA events including a top 3 finish in the Georgia Senior Women’s Amateur Championship in 2022, Qualified for USGA Senior Women’s Amateur Championship in 2010 and 2012. Won numerous club championships since 2001, Before coming to Reinhardt she had a 30-year ski teaching/coaching career for Vail Ski School in Vail Colorado.
