Reinhardt University Eagles Secure Victory in Season-Closer Against Columbia College Koalas
Columbia, SC - In a thrilling conclusion to their regular season, the Reinhardt University women's basketball team triumphed over the Columbia College Koalas in a 70-59 victory at the Godbold Center in Columbia, SC. This significant AAC conference game on Saturday afternoon, saw the Eagles marking their authority on the court and finishing their season with an impressive record of 21-7 overall and 17-5 in the conference.
From the outset, the Eagles established a dominant pace, leading 20-9 by the end of the first period, propelled by standout performances from Noelle Lavery, who scored the team's first points and maintained momentum throughout the game. Lavery finished with an exceptional 25 points, 11 rebounds, and not only led in points but also tied for the highest assists with 3, showcasing her all-around game. Following closely in scoring was Julia Craft with 14 points, who, alongside Lavery, featured prominently in Reinhardt's scoring runs, especially noted for extending the lead to 14 points by halftime with the score at 35-21.
The third period highlighted the Eagles' defensive prowess and fast breaks, with the team leading by as much as 20 points.
