Lavery's Double-Double Helps Eagles Secure the Win Against Columbia
Waleska, GA - It was a great AAC WIN for the Eagles today over the visiting Koalas of Columbia University, 76-62! Reinhardt led from start to finish pushing the lead to over twenty points for a good stretch of the second half.
The Eagles led at the halftime break 34-19 and outscored the Koalas every quarter except for the fourth. In the fourth, Columbia was able to connect on a few three-pointers as the time dripped off the clock. However, Reinhardt never lost the double-digit lead that they had enjoyed since the early minutes of the first quarter.
Noelle Lavery led the way for the Eagles with a double-double! 24 points and 12 rebounds. She has been a consistent leader for the Eagles this season getting the important buckets when called up.
Lana Van Dyke was a beast on the boards, pulling down 15 loose balls. Point guard Laphina Campbell dished out 9 assists while racking up 14 points - just one assist shy of joining Lavery with a double-double.
Kiara Simpson was hot the entire game from 3-point land, shooting 4 of 7 behind the line (6-11 overall). She scored 17 total in the game and added an extra spark that helped the Eagles pull out to the commanding double-digit lead.
The Eagles currently sit at #3 in the AAC standings as the final third of the 2024-25 schedule is upon us. Milligan and Johnson are a game up on Reinhardt at the moment, but they have also played one more game than the Eagles. Next up for Reinhardt is another AAC home game on Monday vs Kentucky Christian at 5:30 pm.
