RU WBB Rang in the New Year with an AAC WIN Versus Bluefield
Waleska, Ga. - The Reinhardt women's basketball team rang in the new year with a significant victory over the Bluefield University Rams. The conference game, held on Saturday afternoon, at the Brown Athletic Center, ended with a robust score of Reinhardt University 81, Bluefield (VA) 63. After a strong first half of the season, the Eagles showed that they are continuing the rest with the same tenacity and determination. RU is currently sitting at #1 in the AAC with a strong record of 7-1 in conference play.
Halftime saw a close battle, with Reinhardt leading 35-31, a lead that expanded as the game progressed with the final being 81-63. Noelle Lavery starred as the game's top scorer, racking up 26 points, along with 9 rebounds. The Eagles demonstrated a balanced team performance. I'ziah McCutchins made notable contributions with 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 steals. Julia Craft and Na'Yel Camper also played key roles, with Craft scoring 9 points and grabbing 6 rebounds while Camper added 8 points and 3 steals to the tally. Lana Van Dyke made her presence felt with a double-double, scoring 10 points and securing 12 rebounds.
With this win, the Eagles' season record improves their overall record to 12-3. The team is looking forward to their next challenge, an away game against Johnson University scheduled for this upcoming Tuesday, January 7th, at 5:30pm.
