#1 RU WBB Drops to 23-1 After Competitive Game at #2 Bryan College
Dayton, TN – Reinhardt women's basketball is currently ranked #1 in the AAC and #21 in the NAIA. The Eagles had an important match-up at #2 Bryan College this past Wednesday night. With only a few games left, both teams were battling for 1st place in the conference. The Bryan College Lions ultimately came out on top 72-65 giving Reinhardt their first loss of the season. As both Reinhardt and Bryan both have a loss, they will meet again at a neutral site just before the AAC tournament to see who will go in as the #1 seed.
Although Reinhardt took the loss, they played a great and competitive game against the Lions, going 44% from the paint, 42% from the 3-point line, and 89% from the free-throw line. Reinhardt was down their leading scorer in Maria Sanchez Ponce but has many talented players who can score for the Eagles RU's Ashley Woodroffe has been a big offensive weapon this season and led Reinhardt in this game with 21 points. Following her was Kiara Simpson, who scored 11 points, including three 3-pointers.
The Eagles now sit with an 19-1 record in the AAC and have a 23-1 record overall. The next game for RU will be the last home game for Reinhardt as they will be playing Montreat College on Saturday, February 17th, at 2pm. This game will also serve as Senior Night, where they will honor the RU 2023-24 basketball seniors as they play in their last home as a Reinhardt Eagle.

- Ashley Woodroffe led the Eagles' offense with 21 points, while Kiara Simpson added 11 and. Julia Craft added 10.
- Ashley Woodroffe and Tarrah Gibson each led in rebounds with 8.
- Tarrah Gibson had the most assists with 4.
