Waleska, Ga. - The Reinhardt Eagles softball team hosted the Bluefield College Rams on Thursday afternoon in an AAC double-header. The Eagles came out victorious with the final scores of 9-1 & 3-1.
GAME TWO (9-1)
From the outset, Reinhardt established their dominance, racking up four runs in the first inning. Key players such as Taylor Wade and Anslie Pettit were instrumental in securing this victory. Wade delivered an exceptional performance, recording a triple, four hits overall, and securing two stolen bases, showcasing his all-round capabilities. On the mound, starting pitcher Anslie Pettit turned in a stellar performance, tossing 6.0 innings with an outstanding 14 strikeouts, which played a crucial role in keeping the Rams at bay.
Kyra Lightner also had a standout game, not only hitting a pivotal home run but also driving in three of the team's nine runs. Her contributions were crucial in maintaining the momentum for the Eagles. Other notable performances included Ansley Hight, Eyrn Lee, and Macy Langley, each contributing significantly to the scoreboard and the game's outcome.
GAME ONE (3-1):
The Eagles' offensive efforts were led by Eryn Lee, Jolie Splendore, and Taylor Wade, each contributing crucial runs to secure the win. Maddie Wright delivered outstandingly with 2 RBIs, and Ansley Hight added another, reinforcing Reinhardt's lead. The Rams' sole run came from L. Jackson, who, despite the loss, had a notable performance with multiple hits throughout the game.
