Waleska, GA. - In an AAC conference softball battle in Waleska, GA on Saturday night, the Reinhardt University Eagles matched up agasint the Bryan College Lions and took the split. Bryan won the first game in extra innings 9-7 and then the Eagles battled back for the win in game two 7-2.
Game One: The game was marked by a series of impressive plays from the Eagles, who trailed behind yet managed to make significant advances. Notably, the third inning was a highlight for Reinhardt as they racked up four runs which included a scintillating home run and a double by Ansley Hight, contributing two RBIs. Additional runs in this inning came from a wild pitch that allowed Taylor Wade to add another to the scoreboard. The Eagles displayed robust batting performances from other team members as well: Macy Wright hit a double and secured an RBI, while Molly Stevens brought in two RBIs with a sacrifice fly and showcased notable fielding efforts with five assists.
Game Two: Reinhardt University's batting lineup shone brightly, with significant contributions from Eryn Lee and Macy Wright, each scoring two runs. Taylor Wade not only scored a run but also drove in two, cementing his status with a spectacular performance that included four hits, a double, and two stolen bases. Ansley Hight was another hero of the day, smashing a homerun to center field in the 1st inning, bringing in two RBIs and scoring a run himself.
The pitching was equally commanding, with Anslie Pettit delivering a stellar performance from the mound. Over seven innings, Pettit allowed just two runs on six hits while striking out nine, keeping the Lions at bay.
