Eagles Take the Split With Middle Georgia State

Cochran, GA - The Reinhardt Eagles softball team traveled to play #23 Middle Georgia State on Monday and earned the split with the Knights. The Eagles now sit with an AAC record of 2-0 & are 3-1 overall.

The Eagles fell 5-0 in game one of the double header. During the game, Kylie Freije recorded 2 hits, while Eryn Lee, Maddie Wright, and Ansley Hight each recorded 1. RU pitchers, Belle Krauth tallied 3 strikeouts and Macy Langley tallied 2.

Then, in game two, the Eagles ultimatley won with a final score of 10-2 to take the split. Key players stepped up for the Eagles, with Maddie Wright leading the charge by scoring twice and driving in three runs. Contributions also came from Kyra Lightner, Taylor Wade—who also had two RBIs—Molly Stevens, Maggie English, and Izzy Forestier, all crossing the plate to ensure a substantial lead. Ansley Hight and Addyson Garris added to the RBI tally, rounding out a robust offensive performance. Starting pitcher Anslie Pettit delivered from the mound, helping secure the win and advancing the Eagles' season record to 2-1.

The impressive recovery by Reinhardt University not only displayed their resilience but also highlighted their ability to regroup and dominate following a tough loss.
