Waleska, GA – The Reinhardt softball team took a roadtrip to the Carolina's this past weekend to play in two AAC match-ups versus St. Andrews and Columbia College.
The first series was on Saturday afternoon, where the Eagles swept the St. Andrews Knights with the final scores of 10-1 and 8-0. No boxscore has been added as of yet.
Then, on Sunday, RU made their way to play the Columbia College Koalas. Reinhardt earned 2 more as they won 9-5 and 7-3.
In game one, Molly Stevens led the offense totaling 2 hits including a homerun, scored 2 runs, and earned 3 RBIs. Emily Loveless and Alexis Teems each recorded 2 hits and Reinhardt had 6 different players earn a RBI. Whitney Shepherd was the winning pitcher and totaled 3 strike-outs. The Eagles ultimately won 9-5.
Then, in game two, the momentum carried from game one for the Eagles as they successfully scored 7 runs to Columbia's 3. Offensively, Kylie Freije and Ansley Evans each hit a home-run. Emily Loveless, Ansley Evans, and Kylie Frejie each recorded 2 RBIs. Ally Andriano was the winning pitcher who recorded 5 total strikeouts and walked none.
The Eagles have now improved their overall record to 18-4 and are 8-0 in conference play. The next series for the Eagles will be at home against Georgia Gwinnett this upcoming Tuesday, March 19th, at 4pm and 6pm.
