Eagles Secure the SWEEP over #20 Saint Xavier at Home
Waleska, GA – The Reinhardt softball team secured the sweep over #20 nationally ranked, the Saint Xavier Cougars at home on Thursday afternoon. The final scores of the games were 4-1 and 3-0. With these wins, the Eagles have now improved their record to 12-4 overall on the season.
GAME ONE: Reinhardt 4, Saint Xavier 1
The Cougars of Saint Xavier were the first get one on the scoreboard in the top of the 3rd inning, but RU's Emily Loveless, who had an outstanding day, answered with a single homerun in the bottom of the 3rd. This was enough momentum to get the Eagles' bats moving as they were able to score 3 more runs to secure game one of the series. Emily Loveless went 3-3 on the day with 2 RBIs and a homerun. Ansley Evans recorded 2 hits and a RBI, while Molly Stevens had one hit and a RBI. Bella Krauth was the winning pitcher who pitched the whole game, recording 4 toast strikeouts and only allowed one run.

- Ansley Evans singled to center field to allow Alexis Teems to the home-plate. (3rd inning, 2-1)

- Molly Stevens singled to left field to get Alexis Griffith home for RU's 4th and final run of game one. (6thinning, 4-1)

Reinhardt continued their momentum into game two to secure the 3-0 shut-out win. A double from Alexis Teems and a sacrifice fly from Ansley Evans gave the Eagles their 1st two runs in the 3rd inning. Then, in the 4th inning, Kylie Freije hit a bomb over the fence to close out the Eagles' scoring at 3-0. Alexis Teems and Kylie Freije each recorded 2 hits, while them as well as Alexis Teems each recorded an RBI. Ally Andriano was the winning pitcher to record 2 strikeouts, no errors, and allowed no runs.
