Thomasville, GA – The Reinhardt softball team traveled to Thomas University to play the Night Hawks in double-header. The Eagles took the 2-0 sweep over Thomas was the final scores of 5-0 and 5-1.
GAME ONE: Reinhardt 5, Thomas University 0
The Reinhardt Eagles were able to get the first run of the game from an error by Thomas in the 3rd inning. There weren't any other scores until the 7th inning when RU went a 4-0 run thanks to a hit from Jill Martinet and Ansley Evans. Molly Stevens recorded the most hits with 2, while Martinet and Evans each led with 2 RBIs. Whitney Shepherd was the winning pitcher as she pitched all seven innings, recording 4 strikeouts and no errors.
SCORING PLAYS:
- Emily Loveless scored on an error for RU's first run. (3rd inning, 1-0)
- Jill Martinet doubled to left field to get Alexis Teems and Taylor Wade across home plate. (7th inning, 3-0)
- Ansley Evans singled to get 2 more runs for the Eagles to close out the game. (7th inning, 5-0)

Coming off a win in game one, RU got on the scoreboard early in the 1st inning to go up 2-0. Then in the 3rdinning, a 2 RBI double from Ansley Evans and a single from Kylie Freije gave them their 5th and final run. Thomas was able to get on the board in the 3rd but couldn't push past to give RU the 5-1 win. Emily Lovelessrecorded 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Ansley Evans also recorded 2 RBIs in game two. Ally Andriano was the winning pitcher and recorded 3 total strikeouts.
