The Eagles Get 2 Big Wins On-The-Road Versus LaGrange 4-1 & 11-4
LaGrange, GA – The Reinhardt Softball team traveled to play NCAA DIII opponents, the Lagrange College Panthers this past Wednesday, February 8th in a double-header. The Reinhardt Eagles were able to sweep the panthers, going 4-1 the first game & 11-4 the second. The hitting was strong for the Eagles as they had 28 throughout both contests and Hannah Kate Singleton had first home run of the season. This was two great wins for the Eagles, as they are now sitting at 3-1. They have a couple more double-headers at home before they will begin their Conference play.
Game One: Reinhardt 4, LaGrange 1
Starting off strong at bat, Reinhardt was able to get 3 runs on the board to LaGrange's 1 in the first inning. The last and deciding run came in the 3rd, clenching the first game of the 2-game series. Kylie Frieje was Reinhardt's starting pitcher and pitched the whole remainder of the game, helping the Eagles on defense. Offensively, Emily Loveless was involved in all scoring plays.
SCORING PLAYS:
- Thanks to a single to right field from Emily Loveless, Molly Stevens was able to get across home plate to score the first run for the Eagles. (1-0)
- Hannah Kate Singleton then hit a home run to score herself and Emily Loveless in. (3-0)
- Lastly, Kyra Lightner filed out to right field for a sacrifice fly and Emily Loveless was able to make it home. (4-1)

Game Two: Reinhardt 11, LaGrange 4
After the first inning, the Panthers were up 2-1 before the Eagles were able to tie it back it up in just the next inning. Reinhardt then gained some momentum, scoring 4 runs in the 4th inning and 5 runs in the 6th. Lagrange tried to fight back, but was only able get 2 more runs on the board. Whitney Shepherd did a great job pitching for the Eagles, totaling 4 strikeouts. Offensively, Hannah Kate Singleton had 4 hits and 2 RBIs, helping clench this 2-0 sweep over the LaGrange Panthers.
SCORING PLAYS:
- The first run of the game was from a grounded out by Emily Loveless, but was able to score in Eryn Lynn. (1-0)
- Hannah Kate Singleton score thanks to a fielding error by 3rd base. (2-2)
- Singleton then singled to center field, scoring in Molly Stevens and Loveless. (4-2)
- The train kept trucking for the Eagles as Lauren Parker sent one to the left side, helping Singleton get across the home plate. (5-2)
- Next, a walk led Bella Adams across for another tally on the board. (6-2)
- In the top of the 6th, a hit-by-pitch helped Alexis Teems to score. (7-4)
- Kaylyn Jinks singled while Singleton scored. (8-4)
- Alexis Griffith also singled to help Parker score. (9-4)
- Another hit-by-pitch allowed Adams to cross home plate. (10-4)
- Lastly, Loveless singled with an RBI, Kaylyn Jinks scored the final run. (11-4)
