Eagles Softball Pick Up Two in North Carolina

Brevard, NC - The Eagles Softball team was on the road this Saturday for a doubleheader with the Tornados of Brevard College. The Eagles were on a four-game winning streak coming into the game and they were looking to extend it a few more games. The Eagles would dominate both games in this series winning game one 12-1 and the second game, 7-1.
In Game One, Ally Andriano would get the start and she would pick up her 8th win of the season for the Eagles. She pitched three of the total five innings of the game and she would strikeout 3 Tornados and give up one hit. She was relieved by Kyra Lightner in the fourth inning and she would only give up one hit in her two innings of work. She did not record a strikeout, however, she did hold Brevard scoreless. Brevard would get their one run in the first inning off of a home run, but they did not score a run the rest of the way.
The Eagles would do most of their damage in the first inning when they scored five runs. They also had big innings in the second and fourth innings as they put up three runs in each. Jill Martinet, Alanna Dunson, and Lauren Parker all went 2 for 3 with Martinet scoring 3 runs and Dunson scoring 2. Parker had a triple as one of her hits. Hannah Kate Singleton got a double going 1 for 2 in the game. Isabella Adams came in during the top of the fifth inning to hit a solo home run for Reinhardt's final run of game one. The final would end up being 12-1 for the Eagles.
Top Batting
In Game two, would not score as many runs, but they did have two big innings score multiple runs. Their defense and pitching held strong as they would only give up one run in this game as well.
Whitney Shepherd would get the starting spot for this game and she would pick up the win. She went all seven innings and would have an outstanding game striking out 12 Brevard batters. She only gave up 3 hits and allowed one run.
The first inning would be big for the Eagles again as they would score 3 runs. They had another big inning in the fourth inning as well. Alexis Griffith, Emily Loveless, and Lauren Parker would all go 2 for 4 in the game. Griffith and Loveless would score 2 runs each. Loveless had a home run in the third inning which scored Griffith and Alexis Teems.
Top Batting
The Eagles are playing great now and they will look to put their new 6 game win streak on the line Tuesday when Tennessee Wesleyan comes to Waleska for a conference matchup. The doubleheader will start at 4 pm and the second game will roughly start at 6 pm. Look for the Eagles to battle for another two wins as they maneuver for conference positioning.
