Columbus, GA - Over the weekend, Eagles Softball competed in the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, GA. This tournament brought some of the top-ranked teams in college softball to compete at one location. Reinhardt would play five games over a three-day period. Although the Eagles finished winning two of five games, they will be able to take away the experience of playing top-level teams which will help them later in the season against conference opponents. Hannah Kate Singleton had an outstanding tournament and was honored with a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Over the past month of this early season, leaders have risen on the team and there are some talented athletes on this squad. Ally Andriano and Bella Krauth have shown that they solid pitchers and can hold opponents down when the team needs them. In addition, this team has tons of talent in the batting department up and down the roster. Alexis Griffith and Alexis Teems create havoc for opponents pitching at the top of the lineup. They always get on base and score runs for the Eagles. When those two get on base, the power that comes behind them will definitely get them across the plate. Emily Loveless, Jill Martinet, Hannah Kate Singleton, Ansley Evans, and others cause fear in the opposing team from their ability to put the ball in play and the power to hit it out at any moment. The combination of pitching and hitting from this team to go along with the experience they are gaining from playing in the early season tournaments will benefit them as the season goes along and the teams line up for the AAC Tournament.
