North Alabama Showcase Hosts Marquee Field Friday
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – (Results) Cross country lined up against tremendous fields of NCAA competition on Friday morning as the Eagles ran in the North Alabama Showcase Friday morning in Huntsville.
The Reinhardt men finished in 17th overall while the women crossed the finish line in 21st place.
"An up and down day for our group that had some breakthrough races against very stiff competition," head coach Jordan Turner said. "Braden and Tom had strong races to lead us; with Braden running a top-10 season opener at 8K, and Tom running the sixth-best debut race at 8K in Reinhardt History. We need to get better at being comfortable over the course of the entire race and my hope is we begin to see that very soon in training and races.
Brooke led a strong effort by the women's squad that saw her 19:27 effort place her at No. 2 in season openers in the 5K race. All six girls ran their fastest 5K season opener, so that's a great starting point for these ladies."
