Banda, Pace, and Griffen Pick Up Wins at #2 Life
Marietta, GA - The Eagles faced a tough task on Friday evening, wrestling against the #2 ranked team in the NAIA - Life University. The matches started off great for Reinhardt as they won three of the first four matches.
Angel Banda started off the night winning big at the 125 weight class. The final of Banda's match was 22-7 tech-fall in favor of Banda, the #5 wrestler in the NAIA.
Freshman Garrett Pace wrestled at 141 and had a solid match. He went on to win 10 to 5 in his matchup.
The start of the night for the Eagles was Devin Griffen at 149 pounds. Griffen was able to pin his opponent in the second period, which gave the Eagles six points. The scoring would stop there for the Eagles as Life would win out from 157 to 285. The final score was 33-14 in favor of Life.
Next up for the Eagles is the AAC Tournament, which will be held on the campus of Southeastern in Lakeland, Florida. The tournament is a two-day event on February 21st & 22nd.
