Waleska, GA - In an impressive display of wrestling prowess, the RU Eagles decisively defeated Truett-McConnell's Bears 44-12 during the dual meet held at the Brown Athletic Center. The victory marks a strong start for the Eagles, elevating their record to 1-0 in duals for the season.
Leading the Eagles were standout performers like Lee Camp, Angel Banda, Garrett Pace, CJ Shadinger, Trevor Burdick, Nathan Napolitano, John Lovett, and Caleb Pruitt. All these athletes won their respective matches, with the majority securing victories by fall, underscoring the team's dominance. Highlight performances included Leland Camp securing a 7-1 decision over Tyler Ramos and both Garrett Pace and CJ Shadinger executing quick falls in under 2:34, contributing significantly to the Eagles' substantial lead. Banda had a tech fall (17-0) at the 133 weight class while Team Captain & ALl-American Burdick pinned his opponent a minute and thirty into the first period.
