Thomas, Jenkins, Shadinger Make Their Mark at Hawks Invitational
Montgomery, AL - Reinhardt Wrestling had a busy weekend in Alabama with a dual match versus Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday and then the Hawks Classic Invitational Tournament on Sunday. Both the dual match and the tournament were hosted by NCAA DIII Huntingdon College. Both tournaments had participants from both NCAA and NAIA in attendance.
The Eagles came up short in Saturday's dual match with Wisconsin-Eau Claire, 34-9, however, Curtis Thomas, Matt Jenkins, and Domenic DeGina all had great matches with each winning in decision finals. Curt Thomas has a great win streak going over the past few weeks and it continued this weekend. He won his dual match 7-3 at 187. Jenkins continued his All-American season winning 4-2 at 165. Jenkins is top one or two wrestlers at 165 in the NAIA this season. DeGina has kicked his season into high gear after missing some of the first few matches this season. DeGina won his dual match 3-0 over Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
On Sunday's tournament, the Eagles had a lot of success. Curtis Thomas, Matt Jenkins, and CJ Shadinger shined for the Eagles with each of them placing first overall in their weight classes. DeGina came up just short placing 2nd overall at 141 weight class.

The Eagles will travel to the Virginia Duals this Friday before coming back home for a dual match versus Montevallo Univesity on Wednesday, Jan. 18th. This will be Senior Night for the Eagles and the Athletic Department will make this a special night with presentations of the wrestlers and their families and a live broadcast with commentary.
