Eagles Go 3-1 at Lindsey Wilson Duals
Columbia, KY - Reinhardt Wrestling extended its dual meet season record to 7-1 with today's duals at Lindsey Wilson. The Eagles faced Marion, Indiana Tech, Lindsey Wilson, and Lourdes. The only loss on the day was to #12 Indiana Tech 24 to 14. The #7 ranked Eagles beat Marion 47-3, #15 Lindsey Wilson 38-12, and Lourdes 25-20.
Several Eagles had great days on the mat with All-American Trevor Burdick who was 2-0 on the day at 157. Burdick split time with Devin Griffin who went 1-1 with a win over Lourdes 157. Burdick had two pins - one against Marion and one against Lindsey Wilson.
Fellow All-American Matt Jenkins was 1-1 on the day at 165 with a win over Lindsey Wilson and a narrow decision loss against Indiana Tech. Wyatt Higgins had the other two matches at 165 with a 1-1 record.
Angel Banda wrestled all matches at 125 weight class with a 3-1 record for the duals. His only loss came against Lindsey Wilson which was an 11-4 decision match. Newcomer, Dominico DiGena had a tremendous day going 4-0 with pin against Lindsey Wilson and two major decision wins.
Dawson Bates and Aushaud Evans split time at 149 with both going 2-0 in the duals. Each had a pin and Bates had another major decision in his other win.
Heavyweight division wrestler, Gavin Harper, went 3-1 in the duals with a pin against Marion. His loss was a close decision match 4-7.
Below are the full results for the four duals this afternoon at Lindsey Wilson. The Eagles will travel back home and start preparing for the Reinhardt Duals which will take place on Wednesday evening at the Brown Athletic Center. It will be an energetic night as #2 Life University comes to town along with UNC Pembroke. This will be a great night of wrestling and one you do not want to miss!
