Reinhardt University Eagles Secure a Thrilling Victory Over King University
Bristol, TN. - In a nail-biting regular-season match on Saturday afternoon, the Reinhardt University Eagles men's volleyball team secured a hard-fought victory against King University at the Student Center Complex in Bristol, TN. The Eagles overcame an early setback to win 3-2 in a series full of intense moments and spectacular plays.
The match began with King University taking the lead by securing the first two sets with scores of 25-20 and 25-23. However, the Eagles demonstrated resilience and determination, rallying back to win the next three sets. The scores of 26-24, 25-23, and a gripping 18-16 in the final set underlined the tight competition between the two sides.
Gabriel Gutierrez led the charge for Reinhardt with a staggering 25 kills, also contributing 7 digs and securing a match-high in kills. Supporting him were Cade Cochran and Jakub Aniolczyk, who added 15 and 13 kills respectively. On the defensive front, Quintin Fongbemi made his presence felt with 3 crucial blocks, accompanied by Decklan Fongbemi and Christian De Leon, each adding 2 blocks. Bruno Dewes orchestrated the plays, amassing 53 assists throughout the match. Alex Sanchez was a defensive standout with an impressive 24 digs.
Following this big win against Division II opponents, the Eagles are now looking forward to their next challenge as they face Campbellsville away on Monday, Match 10th, at 6:30 PM.
