RUMVB Earned the SWEEP at Carolina University
Winston-Salem, NC. - In a spectacular display of skill and teamwork, the Reinhardt University men's volleyball team achieved a resounding 3-0 victory against the Carolina University Bruins on Saturday afternoon, during a regular-season league volleyball match-up. The Eagles demonstrated their prowess across three sets with scores of 25-12, 25-12, and 25-13, sealing a commanding victory over the Bruins.
The Eagles' offense was led by Gabriel Gutierrez, who not only contributed a high of 15 kills but also dominated with 5 aces, enhancing the team's scoring opportunities. Jakub Aniolczyk and Quintin Fongbemi also made significant contributions with 9 and 5 kills, respectively. In terms of defense, Christian De Leon stood out with 3 blocks, helping to thwart the Bruins' attacking efforts.
The defensive game was equally strong, with multiple players contributing to the digs count, notably Alex Sanchez who made an impressive 12 digs. The team's strategic setups were orchestrated by Michele Fassetta and Ethan Keung, who provided 14 and 15 assists respectively, playing pivotal roles in setting up attacks and securing points.
With this win, the Eagles have now moved their season record to 7-2, with a 2-0 start in the AAC. Looking forward, the Eagles will next face Bluefield College Rams in an away AAC conference game on Saturday, February 15th at 12pm.
