Reinhardt MVB Soars to Victory In a Sweep Over Brescia
Waleska, GA - In an impressive showing on their home court, the Reinhardt men's volleyball team swept the Brescia Bearcats 3-0 in a pivotal league volleyball contest on Friday night at the Brown Athletics Center. The Eagles demonstrated their dominance throughout the match, each set proving the skill and coordination of the team against their league opponents
The Eagles opened the series with a closely fought 25-23 win in the first set, setting the tone for the match. They heightened their gameplay in the second set, cruising to a 25-14 victory, before sealing their triumph with a 25-22 win in the final set. This victory not only showcased their ability to maintain pressure but also to execute under tight conditions, as evidenced by the 10 ties and three lead changes in the last set. Strategic timeouts by Reinhardt University were crucial in maintaining momentum and adapting to the fray of a closely contested game.
Reinhardt's Gabriel Gutierrez was a standout, amassing 13 kills and contributing significantly in blocks and aces, adding an impressive 4 blocks and 2 aces to his tally. Decklan Fongbemi also made a notable impact with 6 blocks. On the defensive end, Alex Sanchez led with 17 digs, fortifying the Eagles' defensive groundwork.
