Campbellsville, KY – The Reinhardt men's volleyball team traveled to Kentucky to play in 3 games at Campbellsville University. The Eagles ultimately went 2-1 to improve their record to 4-2 overall.
The first game took place on Friday night against the Campbellsville host, where the Eagles earned the 3-1 win (12-25, 28-26, 27-25, 25-16). RU's Jakub Aniolczyk had a great offensive game, totaling 20 kills. Setter, Ethan Keung totaled 35 total assists. Defensivley, Alex Sanchez recorded 11 digs, while Christian De Leon & Decklan Fongbemi each recorded 4 blocks.
Then, RU took on Cornerstone on Saturday morning and ultimately fell 3-0 (15-25, 17-25, 22-25). Offensively, Decklan Fongbemi, Quintin Fongbemi, and Gabriel Gutierrez each had 7 kills. Ethan Keung recorded 19 total assists. Defensively, Alex Sanchez recorded 11 digs, & Christian De Leon had 3 blocks.
Lastly, RU matched up against Mount Vernon Nazarene and earned the 3-0 sweep (25-12, 25-13, 25-20). Gabriel Gutierrez led in kills with 7, while Andrea Forcina added 6. Ethan Keung was the winning setter, totaling 14 assists, while Michele Fassetta added 11. Alex Sanchez recorded the squad's high of 11 digs and 7 service aces. Christian De Leon recorded 5 blocks, while Andrea Forcina followed with 4.
Up next, the Eagles will be playing at Truett-McConnell this upcoming Tuesday at 6:30pm for their first AAC match-up.
