Reinhardt Volleyball Narrowly Defeated by Georgetown in Tense Four-Set Battle
Waleska, Ga. - In a fiercely contested volleyball game, the #12 nationally-ranked Reinhardt University Eagles faced off against the #4 ranked Georgetown College Tigers on Tuesday night, in Georgetown, KY. Despite their valiant efforts, the Eagles fell to the Tigers with a final score of Georgetown 3, Reinhardt 1.
The opening set saw a tight finish with Georgetown edging out Reinhardt 25-21. However, Reinhardt rebounded in the second set, capturing a 27-25 victory. Unfortunately, the following two sets mirrored the first, with Georgetown marginally winning both with identical scores of 25-23, sealing their victory over the Eagles.
Key players for Reinhardt showcased remarkable performances. Jakub Aniolczyk led the team with a formidable 18 kills, earning him additional recognition as the team's top scorer. Christian De Leon contributed significantly on the defensive front with 5 blocks, while Alex Sanchez kept the rallies alive, tallying 20 digs. The serving efforts were bolstered by Andrea Forcina, who delivered 4 aces, and the teamwork was facilitated by impressive assists from Bruno Dewes and Ethan Keung, who posted 23 and 18 assists respectively.
