Thoughts from Coach B:
"Win or lose, All the Honor and Glory Goes to God! This trip was big for us, as the guys have been working hard and it was an opportunity for us to play two non-conference, high-quality teams. We were especially excited to see how we were going to match up and compete against Mount Vernon. They are having a great season and are receiving votes. They are well-coached and very talented. What impressed me is how our team continues to show growth in our culture and how we give and receive to our teammates! There were so many moments when our guys just responded whenever it looked like they were going to grab the momentum and take control. This team, this season; they stay together and are really starting to trust one another. I think this match helped both teams. Set 4 was really fun and I loved seeing our guys battle and able to claw/fight to pull out that set 36-34!
Match 2 it showed again, the trust our guys are having as they now believe that they can come back and don't lose their composure in those situations. Campbellsville had a great start and our guys just stayed together and trusted the process. Pulling out set 1 was huge for us and a big reason we were able to get a big win versus a solid program. First time for RU Men's Volleyball winning versus Campbellsville at Campbellsville.
It was a great trip and I'm very proud of the guys for being able to play together and go 1-0 twice. As always, we are keeping our 1-0 mindset and will reset back to 0-0 and try to go 1-0 on Monday in an AAC Conference match. We will be at home and we would love to see our RU family there supporting the guys!"
